Spring time and Pet Allergies.

Just like people, dogs can get allergies too.
Spring season is the time of the year when Skin Allergies can give your
pet a hard time. The most common skin allergy in this time of the year is Flea and tick Allergy. With the temperature increasing and the humidity level in spring the pupae will emerge as adult fleas. Adult fleas live on your pet And in your pets resting area. Fleas are parasites and need a host to feed. The flea bites and sucks blood, when biting they inject an irritating saliva. This saliva prevents the blood to coagulate, so the flea can drink the blood.

When your dog is sensitive to flea saliva, it will cause itching and scratching. The itching can become severe and other skin problems can arise, like hair-loss, inflammation and secondary bacterial skin infections. Pets that are allergic to fleas can have a severe reaction to even one flea.
